Whether you like it in a thin strip or grow out all bushy, at home grooming is always an essential. I’m not talking about a brazilian wax – god knows how difficult and awkward it would be to do that at home – but I’m talking about your those brows that frame your face and accentuate the very essence of your allure.

Mineral and natural shades of make-up are taking the beauty world by storm. Au naturale is the way to go, so keeping your natural brow line is the end goal. The biggest mistake that you can do is tweeze too much! Once you tweeze, you can never get back. Oval Face

Just follow the guidelines for simply shaping your brows and make sure your “peak” doesn’t turn into golden arches like Ronald McDonald’s.

Round Face
If you have a round face, a la Marilyn Monroe and Cameron Diaz, it’s beneficial to try and make your face appear more like an oval. Simply create a higher arch, and move the “peak” out towards the end of the brow.

Heart-Shaped Face
Love struck heart-shaped faces should opt for a more round shape for their brows to add curves and to soften the face just as Madonna, Julia Roberts and Naomi Campbell did.

Square Face
Demi Moore and Brooke Shields both have square-shaped faces and prefer strong angled eyebrows would help to balance out the angles.

During the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2007 fashion show, the line portrayed a working look. The women were dressed beautifully in plain and simple outfits. Even the men’s wardrobe seems like Marc was inspired by the newspaper boy look with suspenders and baggy clothes. I’m glad this trend is coming this Spring, not only will it be comfortable, but it will also bring back a vintage look I will never get tired of.

Last summer, I remember I felt like dressing up during one of my baseball practices. So I ended up wearing knee-high socks, short-shorts, a t-shirt, and a red bandanna in my hair. Little did I know that this outfit I wore would come in style next spring! Here I was, surfing the web and flipping through magazines in search for the hottest trend, when it has been right under my nose. This spring, woman will travel back to the 1930’s and steal that totally sexy look: the factory girl. The cute grunge is in ladies! Also, there has even been some celebrity attention to this hard-working, yet feminine look. Even Christina Aguilera has this style included in her new hit music video "Candyman".

Now that we have established that this is an awesome outfit that every girl should have, here’s what you can do to get the look. First off, any kind of cloth tied in your hair would begin the effect. I would stick to very ‘blah’ and neutral colours like beiges, whites, and grays. Similar to this outfit from Urban Behavior - the grey shorts with attached suspenders portrays the working girl look, but is super hot. It is also nice to keep in mind that a collared top with rolled up sleeves would be an awesome addition. But seriously, as long as you have some sort of bandanna in your hair, you’ll have the trend.

Just keep in mind that wearing tight clothes isn’t meant for this look. Baggy clothes and tying it up here or there will be perfect. Like rolling up your cargos or tying up your shirt, like Christina. Funny enough, you want to look like that housewife many women are striving not to be. But that’s the upside to this trend, you can look like that drop-dead sexy housewife, while still working towards your career goals. So let’s take that blast from the past and take this trend into the 21st Century.

The shopping scene in Vancouver is getting totally exciting. Recent additions include Parasuco, Urban Outfitters and GSUS’s Heavens Playground. H&M is opening up in September at Coquitlam Centre. The more shopping, the better! If only they could open the stores super late like they do in Asia, I can always use a late night snack and a new pair of shoes.

Miss Sixty on Robson Street

A few years back I only wore Miss Sixty jeans. I think now it’s time to go back, cause Miss Sixty has just opened its very first Vancouver store a 970 Robson Street. Hotness, a must visit on this weekend’s shopping trip.

Sterling Shoes on Granville Street

Sterling Shoes has opened up at 640 Granville Street, nuzzled inbetween Parasuco and Buffalo. And you know how we always forget about the guys, Sterling has introduced a men’s section! But really, I am self-absorbed, was mesmerized by these uber cute Shellys London quilted ballet flats in multiple colours and patterns.

The New Holts

Die hard Holt Renfrew fans are getting their credit cards ready for the new 135,000 square feet store opening on Thursday, May 31st. The ultimate designer department store will even feature a spa and a Holts Cafe. Brands like 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander McQueen, Chloe, La Perla, Stella McCartney and oh so much more.

And there are some serious rumours of a certain Swedish retailer opening up in the old Holts space. My life will be complete if the rumours are true.
