I have a major weakness for beauty products. While wandering the little outskirts of downtown Vancouver, I came across a fabulous little gem of a beauty store at The Village at Park Royal in West Vancouver. New to The Village, Kiss & Makeup is not your ordinary beauty store. Instead, it is deemed an apothecary store by their founders Heather and Julie. Apothecary store, you ask? If you’re a total Friends fan like myself, you would know that an apothecary carries herbs and remedies during the ‘days of yore’ as Rachel (Jennifer Aniston’s character) explains the time period of her Pottery Barn purchased table to Phoebe. Kiss & Makeup is an apothecary store in such a way that they carry upscale, top-of-the-line beauty products and accessories that were formerly only accessible to the stars, such as Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, themselves! Bringing celebrity status to the everyday people, Kiss & Makeup has something for the ultra chic woman, the metrosexual male and baby too!
This summer, perfect your sultry come-hither eye with Cargo’s EyeLighter Pen. This is used by pro artists to spot the inner corner of your eyes with a shimmery white to really make your eyes stand out! And then finish it off with Fresh Eye Shadow Trio in Corazon Del Mar, an intensely-pigmented powder enhances with crushed Polynesian pearl and antioxidant green tea extract, to give your eyes an authentic tropical glow.

My Heart was Stolen
I must confess. I feel bad, like really bad. Extremely guilty. So last night, I had to get my lash extensions at Wink Beauty Lounge. I cannot live without them.That’s not the guilty part, the owner of Vicious Circle (just down the hall from Wink) came over to say hi. And after finishing off my lashes, I walked over to Vicious to have her show me her store. OMG, I freaked out. A total hidden gem in the middle of downtown Vancouver. It’s like one of those cute little boutiques you find in LA. You’ll find girl and guy brands like English Laundry, Fender, Unified, Heavy Rotation, Pink Spike, EC Star, Classic Hardware and what stole my heart, Melie Bianco bags. I love jeans. I love shoes. But, I really love handbags. I first learned about Melie Bianco bags when LC from Laguna Beach (aka Lauren from The Hills) wore a white Melie Bianco bag on Season 1. They’re super cute bags, always spotted in celeb rags like Life & Style, the bags are trendy and at a great price point. I was weak. I’ve never seen Melie Bianco bags anywhere in Vancouver and before me was a whole collection of them. And to make matters worse, they had opened the store just for me, isn’t that what they do for celebrities? I left with a black quilted doctor’s bag. Very Marc Jacobs inspired. I’ve only owned it for a few hours, but I’m in love. Time to empty out the current bag and switch.
