We heart Girl of the Week Vanessa Fors for her commitment to supporting local Vancouver talent. Her site NextDoorStyle.com sells unique fashion and accessories by Vancouver designers. One site just wasn’t enough, cause next month, Vanessa will launch NextDoorDesigner.com, a site that connects retailers to designers. To top it off, this girl-on-the-go will be jetting off to Vegas for the Magic fashion and apparel tradeshow to represent Dorinha Jeanswear. Meet superstar Vanessa!

What are you wearing: Honestly, some old pieces from my closet that were thrown together. The shiny leggings I picked up at Winners. I do however, remember that the kimono belt is from Le Chateau many seasons ago and the Cuff is by Ginger Pottin.

Can’t live without: My Mac. Also, I’m addicted to my FlipVideo that I got for Christmas. I’ve made a bunch of little video interviews which you can find on You Tube. Stay tuned for my most recent video of Christie Clayton from Project Runway.

Last purchase: For real? Oh (groans), a financial management text book for a B.C.I.T. course.

Last Fashion Purchase: A Ben Sherman shirt that I haven’t worn it yet but I’m looking forward to mixing the good girl look (shirt) with a bad girl component. I just haven’t completed the outfit in my head yet!

Next purchase: Hopefully some really fantastic heels for spring.

Go-to-outfit:A beaded kimono style wrap top made by Punky Fish that I bought in Amsterdam, it never fails.

Most prized possession in the closet: A Betsey Johnson evening coat.

Favourite designers: My favourite local designers are Carny Love and Ginger Pottin, semi – local is Rachel Mara and international is Walter Van Beirendonck.

Favourite places to shop: Main Street in Vancouver is my favourite for sure because I can find local designers and eclectic looks there.

Dream shopping partner: Shay Wilson of the blog: The Ongoing Project. She has a great eye, is always aware of upcoming trends and she is super honest with me when I try something on and it doesn’t look right!

Guilty pleasure: Shoes, shoes, shoes!
