By day, the polished and effortlessly glam KATIE MOGAN is part of the Teldon Media Group. But by night this classic cutie hits the circuit with a cause. As a volunteer for the Beauty Night Society, we spotted her looking perfect (insert hint of jealously here) at a fundraising event. Ladies meet Katie, who we heart for being stylish and selfless.
Wearing…H&M lace corset and bubble skirt, GAP black peep-toe wedges, a silver choker with ribbon that was a gift, and a vintage black beaded clutch, which was a hand-me-down from my mother.
Top shops…In Vancouver: H&M, Anti-Hero, Browns, MK at Richmond Centre, and Holt Renfrew when there are sales. In Victoria: North of Wednesday, Rebel Rebel, Mysie, and Paradise.
What do you factor in when picking a party outfit…Do I LOVE IT? Where will I wear it? Should I throw a party just to justify the outfit? If the answer to the last question is “yes,” then I have to buy it.
Feel my best in…My pink, knit slippers and flannel pyjamas, or my Christian Louboutin shoes that took precedence over my rent last month.
I collect…Shoes, coats, dresses, and credit card debt.
Fashionably inspired by… Audrey Hepburn in “Funny Face”, Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” particularly Season 6 in Paris, and Natalie Portman at most award shows.
Can’t live without…Chocolate, my local $5 sushi special, and a great conversation over wine.
Need it now… Sunshine! And an all-expenses paid trip to Paris.
Trend you want to see die off…Matching TNA / Juicy Couture velour sweat suits, UGGS, particularly when they are worn with flared Lululemon pants tucked into them, and Monogram bags.
What’s your happy colour… Can’t choose just one…pink (accessories), bright yellow (shoes), deep red (lipstick), and brown (chocolate desserts).
You’re talking about…The volunteer work that makes me feel warm and fuzzy…Beauty Night Society.
The best thing about volunteering with Beauty Night… Meeting different women each week and sharing stories over manicures and tea. My favourite moment happened two weeks ago, when one of the clients remembered my name from the week before, and said, “Katie, how was your week?” It felt wonderful.

The Louboutins over rent statement reminds me of the SATC episode where Carrie goes “I spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live?! I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!” Katie seems sweet.
