I first spotted this week’s Girl of the Week NATASHA NEALE on Front and Co.’s blog (a great store and blog to check out, if you haven’t already) and just had to know who she was. Of course, I wasn’t the least bit surprised to find out that Natasha manages ION Magazine’s office by day and the Fortune Sound Club by night. Super stylish and in love with all things pop culture, media and fashion, I can think of no one better to be this week’s girl of the week. Meet Natasha…
Wearing… Wool cashmere coat from Talula Babaton, silk blouse is by Central Park West, my shorts are Wilfred, C’est Moi tights, vintage fox fur collar beaded detail from the 1800s, and my earrings are Betsey Johnson.
Style Notes… Simple with edge. Black and comfortable is key.
Feel best in… Heels! It’s a short gal’s confidence boost.
A style you secretly want to try… Eclectic. Stephi from Front & Co. has amazing style and I wish I could pull that off. Everyone should go check her out.
Indulgences… Shoes. Guilty as charged. I have ridiculously small feet, so anytime an amazing shoe fits it’s a must have.
Beauty counter must-haves… Mani/Pedi’s with OPI nail polish, either with the colour ‘You Don’t Know Jacques’ or ‘On Collins Ave.’ I also love getting facials at Skoah in Yaletown.
Top three wintertime essentials… Stylish, yet practical apparel to keep you warm. Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1. Hot Chocolate with a shot of Baileys. My Burberry scarf, earmuffs and rainboots are also all itchin’ to get pulled out of the closet.
I build my daily look around… My mood and schedule. What I’ll be doing for the day makes or breaks a decision outfit. Either way, all outfits are built around the one piece that has been on my mind since waking up.
Style icons… Love Coco Rocha and Devon Aoki. Models are everyone’s muses. But if we’re talking designers, Marc Jacobs is a favorite along with Canadian love, Carlie Wong. I’m also really digging Travis Taddeo right now too.
Film Club… Empire Records / Better Luck Tomorrow / The Devil Wears Prada
Reading list… ION Magazine, of course
I also enjoy NYLON (as well as NYLON Japan). But my number one would be GQ. Is that weird? Probably, but it’s the one magazine I read cover to cover.
Style Inspirations… I look for style inspiration from those around me - whether it is from my friends, people passing by, or from fashion bloggers. Favourite bloggers are: Tavi the Style Rookie, Daniel - The Pop Couture, and Peter the Starving Stylist. I’m also inspired by pop culture - hello Blair Woldorf headbands!
